Wendy Williams has canceled filming of the new season of her much-postponed talk show once again after she failed to show up to studio for shooting Thursday morning.

Fans who had lined up outside the Chelsea Studios in New York had already been issued with tickets and wristbands and signed appearance waivers to be part of the first show of Season 13, when a member of staff made the shock announcement that the star wasn’t coming, and filming was canceled.

‘Wendy has tested negative for Covid,’ the staffer told the disappointed crowd who had waited more than two hours for admission, ‘But her health is still not great, and she wants to be better than ever when she comes back.’

Earlier a member of staff had told fans to think up questions for the ‘Ask Wendy,’ section telling them that it was ‘her favorite’ and that she was ‘looking forward to getting all your questions.’

‘We plan to return with new shows on Oct 18.

‘Her breakthrough covid case is no longer an issue and she has tested negative, but she is still dealing with some ongoing medical issues.’

Fans who had hoped to attend today’s filming were sent apologetic emails offering them tickets to filming of The Nick Cannon Show instead.

A teaser confirming the new season’s start, Monday October 4, was posted to the show’s Twitter account just yesterday.

The trailer shows an elevator with the number 13 pressed and its door opening to reveal Williams who says, ‘It’s Wendy. We’re back in full effect. All new hot topics. I just have one question, ‘How you doin?’

But despite the trailer’s promise that ‘The wait is over,’ it just got longer and now the season that was due to kick off September 20th has been pushed back nearly a month.

Filming for Williams’s show has already been postponed multiple times. Two weeks ago, a statement posted to Instagram revealed that the double-vaccinated host had tested positive for Covid 19.

The statement read, ‘While continuing her health evaluations Wendy has tested positive for Covid 19.

‘To allow Wendy time to quarantine and fully recover and to ensure that our production abides by all SAG/AFTRA and DGA Covid protocol we expect to being the 13th season of The Wendy Williams Show on Monday, October 4th.’

Earlier, prior to her positive test, Williams abruptly pulled out of all promotional events citing unspecified ‘health issues.’

Then, the statement assured fans that Williams couldn’t ‘wait to be back in the purple chair,’ but explained, ‘Wendy is dealing with some ongoing health issues and is undergoing further evaluations.’

The last time Williams appeared on her eponymous show was July 16 and looked frail when she was last spotted publicly, Friday.

The star was seen in a wheelchair being escorted by her son, Kevin Hunter Jr while a helper wheeled her towards the entrance of her New York City home.

Her diminished appearance came after an NYPD spokesman confirmed to The Sun that she had been transported to hospital for psychiatric evaluation earlier that week.

The officer said, ‘There was a call for a 57-year-old non-violent female who needed psychiatric services at that address on Wednesday morning. They were transported to the hospital.’

Williams’s health struggles and battle with addiction have been well chronicled.

An insider who spoke to the media outlet claimed that the troubled television host was, ‘drinking every day, even when filming the show.’

They said, ‘Everyone is an enabler because they don’t want to lose their job. They see it, they know it, they smell the liquor.’

In 2019 DailyMail.com revealed that Wendy was staying overnight at a private facility called The Pure Recovery Network in Long Island City, New York, after she plunged into alcohol and drug-fueled depression when she fractured her shoulder during a confrontation with her cheating husband, Kevin Hunter.

She broke down in tears on her show and admitted that she had attended the center and was going to meetings.

Speaking to Fox News recently a show source insisted that Williams was ‘on the mend,’ and ‘ready to get back to it.’

But today’s shock cancellation barely an hour before filming was due to start cast doubt on any such assertions and cast a cloud over her health and the show’s future.

While some speculated that a guest host may fill in for Wendy when new shows return October 18, a representative for the show clarified that she ‘will host’ on the 18th, per Page Six

Two weeks ago, Wendy’s talk show Instagram announced she was diagnosed with a breakthrough case of COVID-19.

‘While continuing her health evaluations, Wendy has tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19,’ a rep for the show said in the statement.

‘To allow Wendy time to quarantine and fully recover and to ensure that our production abides by all SAG/AFTRA and DGA COVID protocols, we expect to begin the 13th season of ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ on Monday, October 4th,’ the statement concluded.

Wendy was seen being pushed in a wheelchair on September 21 in New York City by an aid in exclusive DailyMail.com photos.

She was inhaling from a vape pen while waiting for her car.

The COVID-19 announcement came after Wendy cancelled all of her public appearances amid reports that the host was dealing with ‘ongoing health issues’ that needed ‘further evaluations.’

An NYPD spokesperson previously gave a statement to The Sun, who reported that Williams had been driven off in an ambulance after suffering major health complications last week.

‘There was a call for a 57-year-old non-violent female who needed psychiatric services at that address on Wednesday morning. They were transported to the hospital,’ they noted.

Wendy’s team has posted statements to the show’s Instagram account, notifying the public of her health issues

An insider later spoke to the media outlet and gave further information about the seemingly troubled television host, who was reportedly ‘drinking every day, even while filming the show.’

They also alleged that those working around the media figure are not interested in seeking help for the embattled personality in an effort to preserve their careers.

‘Everyone is an enabler because they don’t want to lose their job. They see it, they know it, they smelled the liquor,’ they said.

They also claimed that, although Williams had previously spent time in an alcohol-free living situation, she had fallen off the wagon, which was reportedly known to and willfully ignored by her coworkers.

‘Wendy drinks every day and the only time she was sober was when she was at the sober house. Her staffers are worried but no one is ever going to speak up because they don’t want to lose their jobs,’ they said.

The source added that the former radio DJ was ‘an alcoholic. A bad one. She doesn’t need a talk show, she needs help.’

The news comes just one day after the show’s Twitter and Instagram unveiled a new teaser trailer for Season 13 of the syndicated talk show.

In the teaser trailer posted Wednesday, an elevator door opening with the number 13 button pressed, as Williams is heard saying, ‘The wait is over.’

‘It’s Wendy. We’re back in full effect. All new hot topics. I just have one question,’ she says as the door opens to reveal Wendy, who says, ‘How you doin?’

She’s seen hopping into her chair and says, ‘Season 13, the fun continues,’ as the video comes to an end.
