Tough turn: Pregnant Cardi B is ‘praying’ her daughter makes a swift recovery after suffering a mosquito bite which triggered an allergic reaction. The chart-topping rap star, 28, has revealed that two-year-old Kulture reacted badly to the bite from the blood-sucking insect, causing her eyes to swell and hindering her vision.

‘I don’t know if y’all remember last year, I think I showed you a bit how my daughter’s eyes were so swollen because a mosquito bit her? Now, this year, a mosquito bit her and it swelled both her eyes – she could barely open one of them.

‘I’m just so sad. Just looking at her face literally had me tearing, and her daddy almost cry as well.’

Cardi – who recently announced she is set to have a second child with husband Offset – hopes that Kulture’s allergic reaction will pass by the weekend, when she is due to celebrate her third birthday.

The WAP hitmaker shared: ‘Gosh, her birthday is on Saturday and I’m just praying … praying that her swellness goes down. Like, just praying.

‘I feel like the last time, she had her eyes swollen for like a week. But I think it was because the mosquitoes kept biting her, so just keep reacting.

‘I hope that her s*** goes down before her f****** birthday. But it just looks swollen, like … I can’t wait to take her to the … well, I can’t take her because I’m in LA working my a** off, but my sister is going to take her to see the doctor tomorrow.’

This comes after she said she is determined to make a new album.

She has not changed her attitude towards her career, with Cardi rubbishing the suggestion that she’s not going to make another album now that she is pregnant again.

Responding to a claim made by Joe Budden that Cardi may turn her attention away from music, she wrote on Twitter: ‘Well he deada** wrong [expressionless face emoji] watch when I push out this baby wait 6 months go to Colombia get a lipo, breast reduction, learn how to pole dance again , learn how to play spade and get my political science degree and pop out with my album …Yeup Yeup he going to wrong muahaha.’

Cardi recently claimed that female rappers are held to a higher standard than their male counterparts.

The hitmaker took to Twitter to bemoan the impossibly-high standards that female rappers like herself are held to, saying they’re consistently ‘disrespected’ and made to feel like they’re ‘not good enough’.

In response to a post about the criticism of female rap stars, Cardi -who has Kulture, two, with fellow music star Offset – wrote: ‘Female rappers have to bust their a** on performances ,great visuals, hours on make up ,hours on hair, pressure by the public to look perfect, make great music and yet are The most disrespected. It’s always they not good enough, what’s new?’

Prior to that, Cardi suggested that she was happier before finding fame.

The rapper – who released her debut album, ‘Invasion of Privacy’, in 2018 – said: ‘I feel like I was a little bit happier two or three years ago when I had less money.

‘I had less people who had opinions about my life. I felt like my life was mine. Now I feel like I don’t even own my life. I feel like the world owns me.’
